Mechanical Engineer, Satellite Payload (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for the Starlink satellite payload team, responsible for innovating and optimizing hardware design for the world's largest satellite constellation. This role offers the opportunity to work through the entire product lifecycle, addressing complex mechanical challenges to enhance internet accessibility globally.

What you'll do

• Oversee hardware development from design to high-volume production
• Collaborate on design criteria and system-level optimization
• Iterate designs rapidly to inform system trades
• Implement design for manufacturability (DFM) principles
• Manage product lifecycle from supply chain to final integration
• Conduct environmental testing for compliance

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• Experience with CAD and FEA software
• Professional experience in mechanical design
• Proficient in 3D CAD (NX preferred)
• Understanding of GD&T
• Knowledge of material selection and manufacturing methods
• Self-motivated with strong communication skills
• Proficiency in programming languages
