Mechanical Engineer, Test Hardware Fabrication

SpaceX is seeking a Mechanical Engineer for their Test Hardware Fabrication team in McGregor, TX. This role focuses on designing and optimizing tooling solutions that enhance safety and efficiency for ground support and test equipment.

What you'll do

• Design and implement tooling for mechanical and structural projects
• Collaborate with stakeholders to improve safety and work center efficiency
• Identify and activate new fabrication technologies
• Attend design reviews to expedite fabrication schedules
• Work with various teams to solve fabrication issues
• Drive improvements in fabrication processes and work instructions

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or related engineering discipline
• 1+ years in fabrication or testing environments
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software
• Understanding of fabrication methods across engineering disciplines
• Ability to design and build complex assemblies
• Experience with design for manufacture and assembly (DFMA)
• Strong written and communication skills
• Ability to work independently in fast-paced environments
