OS/Platform Software Engineer (Starlink)
About this role
SpaceX seeks an OS/Platform Software Engineer for the Starlink satellite internet program in Redmond, WA. You'll develop and maintain Linux-based software for next-generation satellites and ground systems, from bootloaders to runtime security, working across the full lifecycle of spacecraft software components.
What you'll do
- Maintain and update in-house branches of Linux, Buildroot, and u-boot for spacecraft systems
- Implement secure boot and runtime security for Linux-based satellite components
- Develop, deploy, and test spacecraft software update processes
- Support in-house System-on-Chip and peripherals through their lifecycle
- Develop device drivers for third-party and in-house hardware components
- Collaborate with silicon, electrical, and application engineers to transition hardware from prototype to orbit
