Production Engineer (Starship Electronics)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a Production Engineer for the Starship Electronics team to enhance the production of electrical systems for the Starship spacecraft and SuperHeavy booster. This role involves improving manufacturing processes and tooling to ensure efficiency and reliability in aerospace electro-mechanical components.

What you'll do

• Develop and standardize processes for Starship electronics components
• Design new production stations to enhance capability and yield
• Create mechanical tooling for avionics hardware assembly and testing
• Collaborate with design engineering on manufacturing guidelines
• Analyze and resolve issues related to process variation and quality
• Guide vehicle architecture to optimize production cost and efficiency

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• 1+ years manufacturing engineering experience
• Strong communication and presentation skills
• Proficiency in mechanical design and analysis tools
• Experience with PCB and electro-mechanical assembly
• Knowledge of DFM and PFMEA processes
• Data manipulation using programming languages (e.g., SQL, Python)
• Ability to work in high-volume manufacturing environments
