About this role
SpaceX seeks a Propulsion Engineer to develop and optimize manufacturing processes for Raptor engine combustion device components and assemblies. You'll work hands-on with production teams to drive innovative manufacturing solutions, ensure quality and reliability, and support high-rate production targets for one of the world's most powerful rocket engines.
What you'll do
- Develop manufacturing and integration processes for Raptor combustion device components and assemblies
- Conceptualize and implement innovative manufacturing processes to achieve high-rate production targets
- Collaborate with design engineers to optimize manufacturability and reliability of engine hardware
- Oversee product introductions and revisions while managing multiple concurrent initiatives
- Maintain holistic ownership of production lines including tooling, equipment, quality, and safety
- Resolve manufacturing nonconformances and work with quality teams on corrective actions

- Engine, fluid, or system design and development experience
- Liquid rocket engine and pressurized fluid systems knowledge
- Aerospace materials expertise (steel, aluminum, high-temperature alloys like Inconel)
- Joining processes (welding, brazing)
- Design for manufacturability (DFM)
- Structural and fluids engineering fundamentals
- Detail orientation and organizational skills
