About this role
SpaceX is seeking a Propulsion Engineer to join their Thermal & Fluid Analysis team for the Starship program. The role focuses on optimizing fluid consumables and system performance to enhance the reliability of a fully reusable spacecraft designed for deep space missions.
What you'll do
- Conduct pre-mission analysis on various systems to optimize performance
- Automate analysis workflows to minimize engineering time per mission
- Implement improvements for performance and robustness
- Simplify operations and alleviate workload on other teams
- Document work to enhance efficiency and reduce errors
- Review and provide feedback on peer work
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in engineering
- 1+ years with engineering simulation tools like MATLAB
- Master's degree (preferred)
- 2+ years in thermal or fluid analysis (preferred)
- Knowledge of propulsion and fluid systems
- Experience with thermal/fluid networks
- Familiarity with Python scripting
- Strong communication skills
