RAN Validation Engineer (Starlink Mobile)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a RAN Validation Engineer for its Starlink Mobile program, where the focus is on validating and optimizing the 4G/5G RAN software protocol stack. This role includes developing automated tests, performing testing in both lab and field environments, and enhancing network performance while collaborating with developers.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain automated test cases for eNB/gNB feature validation
• Analyze logs to debug RAN issues and work with developers to resolve them
• Lead UE log collection and field testing for feature development
• Create tools and queries to analyze RAN performance and optimize parameters
• Manage and prioritize network issues with developers
• Troubleshoot and maintain RAN lab infrastructure

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in a STEM field
• Understanding of LTE and 5G-NR protocols
• Experience debugging PHY, MAC, and RRC layers
• Knowledge of RAN parameter configuration
• Automated testing frameworks
• Network performance analysis
• Strong analytical skills
