About this role
SpaceX seeks a Software Engineer to develop mission-critical applications supporting launch vehicle production, Starship manufacturing systems, and Starlink's satellite network management. You'll own full-stack projects with high reliability requirements, collaborating across teams to build systems that directly enable SpaceX's operations and goals.
What you'll do
- Develop highly reliable, mission-critical software solutions deployed across SpaceX operations
- Create new applications that improve manufacturing, launch, and satellite network efficiency
- Build prototypes to validate design concepts and quantify technical constraints
- Own all phases of software engineering from design through production deployment
- Analyze user problems deeply to architect and implement efficient solutions
- Participate in team code reviews, architecture discussions, and design decisions

- Full-stack development across front-end and back-end
- Object-oriented programming (Python, C#.NET, Go, Scala, Java, or similar)
- Single-page application development (Angular, React, or equivalent)
- Distributed systems and stream data processing (Kafka, RabbitMQ, ActiveMQ)
- Containerization and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes)
- Database design and optimization (PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- CI/CD pipelines, version control, and build systems (Bazel, Gradle, Make)
- Performance profiling, system design, and UNIX/Linux administration
