Software Engineer, Development Test (Starlink)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a Software Engineer for its Development Test Automation team to create automated test systems for various satellite payloads and propulsion systems. This role emphasizes collaboration and continuous learning to support the production and design iteration of impact-driven technology.

What you'll do

• Develop reusable test and automation software using Python and similar languages
• Write automation code to interface with hardware and test equipment
• Create tools for improved software deployment and data analysis
• Design custom automation solutions for engineering challenges
• Build user-friendly interfaces for complex systems

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience in software development
• Proficiency in Python and/or C, C++
• Experience in test and automation software development
• Familiarity with version control software
• Knowledge of data acquisition and instrumentation
• Understanding of Linux and Windows OS
• Troubleshooting skills in software-hardware interactions
