Supplier Development Engineer, Automation & Controls (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer for its Starlink operations to enhance automated manufacturing capabilities. This role involves overseeing the development and optimization of manufacturing equipment and control systems, ensuring efficiency and quality in high-volume production environments.

What you'll do

• Lead development and qualification of automation equipment at contract manufacturers
• Collaborate early with suppliers on equipment and controls setup
• Design and qualify custom automation fixtures and workholding solutions
• Optimize conveyor systems for maximum throughput
• Program and debug PLC logic and control systems
• Conduct reactive quality engineering support and root cause analysis

What they're looking for

• Mechanical or electrical engineering degree
• Experience in automation equipment development
• Strong background in automation systems and line optimization
• PLC programming proficiency
• Hands-on experience with robotic and conveyor systems
• Knowledge of design of experiments and statistical process control
