Supplier Development Engineer (Mechanical Engineering)

SpaceX is seeking a Supplier Development Engineer with mechanical engineering expertise to enhance their supply chain for the Starship program. The role focuses on ensuring high-quality manufacturing processes and managing supplier relationships while addressing technical challenges.

What you'll do

• Act as the technical liaison for rocket parts, addressing manufacturing and quality issues
• Manage new product introductions and supplier processes
• Conduct design for manufacturing reviews on early-stage parts
• Collaborate with procurement to identify and vet new suppliers
• Develop specifications for quality and manufacturing requirements
• Lead containment activities for parts and drive resolution

What they're looking for

• Mechanical engineering degree
• 1+ years in manufacturing or inspection
• Understanding of propulsion/fluid systems
• Familiarity with various fabrication processes
• Experience with engineering drawings and GD&T
• Knowledge of supplier quality processes
• Problem-solving skills
• Proficiency in MS Office
