Supplier Development Engineer, Mechanical (Starshield)

The Supplier Development Engineer for the Starshield project at SpaceX will manage sourcing and demand planning for mechanical hardware critical to satellite production. This role involves collaborating with engineering and manufacturing teams, as well as suppliers, to enhance quality, cost, and delivery metrics in a fast-paced environment.

What you'll do

• Improve quality, cost, delivery, and capacity metrics for mechanical hardware
• Collaborate with engineers to understand design intents
• Support procurement by assessing supplier manufacturing processes
• Create supplier technical and quality requirements
• Resolve supplier quality issues through root cause analysis
• Analyze supplier metrics to identify and address performance gaps

• Bachelor's degree in engineering or STEM
• 1+ years in manufacturing/process engineering
• Knowledge of GD&T
• Statistical techniques knowledge
• Lean and supply chain concepts
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
