Supplier Development Engineer, PCB (Starlink)
About this role
SpaceX seeks a Supplier Development Engineer to build and scale a resilient PCB supply base for rapidly growing Starlink User Terminals. The role combines technical expertise in PCB manufacturing, quality systems, and reliability with supplier management to support high-volume production and aggressive growth targets.
What you'll do
- Own PCB supplier development activities and manage incoming supply chain quality and reliability for Starlink User Terminals
- Assess supplier manufacturing capabilities including process stability, capacity, equipment suitability, and technical readiness for high-volume production
- Lead PPAP, First Article Inspections, production ramps, and reliability qualification campaigns tailored to PCB specifications and performance requirements
- Drive supplier performance improvement using Lean methodologies, scorecards, audits, and problem-solving to achieve quality, cost, and delivery gains
- Perform root cause analysis on PCB defect modes such as delamination, plating voids, impedance drift, and pad cratering; lead corrective actions
- Collaborate cross-functionally with Design, Reliability, RF/Electrical, and Production teams to align supplier processes with product requirements
