Thermal Engineer, Satellites (Starlink)

SpaceX is seeking a Thermal Engineer for their Starlink satellite program in Redmond, WA. The role involves thermal design, testing, and validation of satellite hardware aimed at enhancing the performance of the global broadband internet system.

What you'll do

• Conduct thermal design for satellite components
• Develop thermal simulations and conduct lab tests for semiconductor packages
• Create and run tests to validate hardware performance in extreme conditions
• Automate workflows to reduce design cycle investment
• Improve performance and robustness of designs
• Document work effectively and review peer contributions

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years of relevant industry experience
• Proficiency in thermal design tools (e.g. Flotherm, Icepak)
• Experience with thermal modeling software (e.g. Thermal Desktop, ANSYS Workbench)
• Knowledge of scientific programming languages
• Familiarity with scripting languages
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to meet aggressive deadlines
