Thermal Engineer (Starlink)

SpaceX is looking for a Thermal Engineer to join the Starlink team in Bastrop, TX. The role involves designing, testing, and validating thermal systems for advanced hardware, including next-generation antennas and consumer products, ensuring optimal performance under a range of conditions.

What you'll do

• Design thermal systems for phased arrays and gateways
• Conduct detail thermal simulations and lab testing
• Run tests to validate hardware performance in extreme conditions
• Automate design workflow for operational efficiency
• Analyze designs for performance and robustness improvements
• Collaborate with multi-disciplinary teams

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years of mechanical or electromechanical design experience
• Proficiency in MATLAB and Python
• Experience with Thermal Desktop and ANSYS Workbench
• Knowledge of chip thermal design tools like Flotherm or Icepak
• Strong communication skills
• Ability to meet tight deadlines
