Thermal Engineer, Thermal & Fluid Analysis (Starship)

About this role

SpaceX is seeking a Thermal Engineer to enhance the thermal design and validation of its Starship vehicles. The role involves improving vehicle performance and reliability for missions beyond Earth, including Mars.

What you'll do

• Lead thermal design of spacecraft and related hardware
• Automate analysis workflows for efficiency
• Implement performance and robustness enhancements
• Simplify operations to reduce the load on other teams
• Document work to improve clarity and efficiency
• Review the work of peers

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years of engineering simulation experience
• Master's degree preferred
• 2+ years in thermal/fluid analysis preferred
• Knowledge of spacecraft systems
• Familiarity with Thermal Desktop/ANSYS Workbench
• Scripting skills in Python
• Strong communication abilities
