Turbomachinery Engineer (Raptor)

SpaceX is looking for a Turbomachinery Engineer to contribute to the design and development of advanced turbopumps for their Raptor rocket systems. The position involves overseeing the complete design process, ensuring performance and reliability while working closely with a diverse engineering team.

What you'll do

• Design and test turbopumps for rocket propulsion systems
• Manage critical turbomachinery components from design to production
• Conduct hydrodynamic sizing and flowpath analysis
• Perform detailed mechanical analysis to meet reliability targets
• Develop performance models and innovative design methodologies
• Collaborate with production teams to translate designs into hardware

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in engineering
• 1+ years of turbomachinery design experience
• Understanding of aerodynamic and hydrodynamic principles
• Knowledge of thermodynamics and fluid mechanics
• Experience with CAD software (Siemens NX preferred)
• Familiarity with turbomachinery testing processes
• Problem-solving and analytical skills
• Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
