The SQA Finance team is looking for a Staff Accountant to coordinate and assist other members of the Finance team in all related activities surrounding payroll and account management (accounts receivable/payable).

Schedule: Mon-Fri 8:00 am- 5:00 pm
Key Responsibilities:
- Manage billing activities, credit and collections, bank deposits, cash receipts, customer account maintenance, and accounts receivable records
- Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable
- Collaborate with client representatives and internal teams to research and resolve billing, payment, and other accounting-related inquiries
- Process payments and maintain accurate accounts payable and disbursement records
- Assist with payroll processing, including reviewing employee time and expense reports
- Assist with benefits administration, unemployment and workers’ compensation claims, and tracking employee vacation and sick leave balances
- Prepare financial reports, account schedules, and supporting documentation
- Month-End & Year-End Close: Assist with account reconciliations, journal entries, closing activities, and preparation of supporting records
- Research discrepancies, reconcile accounts, and support general accounting activities as needed
- Identify opportunities to improve accounting procedures, increase efficiency, and enhance accuracy and consistency
- Respond to inquiries professionally, investigate discrepancies, communicate findings, and coordinate with stakeholders to resolve issues
- Support other accounting and administrative functions and special projects as assigned
Skills and Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Business, or related field
- Minimum of 4 years of progressive accounting experience, including significant Accounts Receivable experience
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Excellent time-management skills and a process-oriented approach
- Strong analytical, interpersonal, and communication skills
- Excellent organization skills with strong attention to detail
- Technically strong in Excel and software skills
- Highly proficient in MS Office Suite
- Hands-on experience with accounting software; QuickBooks experience preferred
- Advanced Microsoft Excel skills, including VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, PivotTables, and commonly used Excel functions
- Local to Los Angeles and able to support at HQ in Palos Verdes
- Ability to manage multiple priorities, meet deadlines, and work effectively in a fast-paced environment
- Ability to work independently and collaborate effectively with internal teams and external stakeholders
