KIP Spring 2027 - Hackathons Intern - Foundation for Economic Education

The Koch Internship Program (KIP) is a paid experiential learning program run by Stand Together Fellowships that offers professional development, leadership training, and meaningful work experience at non-profits tackling some of our nation's most pressing policy challenges all over the United States. Early-career professionals including undergraduate/graduate/law students and recent graduates are encouraged to apply. Eligible candidates will be geographically located in and authorized to work in the United States through the duration of the program. Successful candidates will interview with both our non-profit partner organizations and Stand Together Fellowships staff, so we strongly encourage you to begin the admissions process early!

About FEE’s Student Engagement Team

The Student Engagement department leads FEE’s student-facing events. Through a mix of in-person and virtual programs, FEE partners with schools, educators, and organizations to introduce students to the principles of a free society, fostering deeper understanding and thoughtful discussions. From outreach and relationship-building to event logistics and execution, the Student Engagement team works to create engaging, high-impact experiences that challenge and inspire the next generation. Domestically, FEE’s programs have reached students in nearly all 50 states. Internationally, FEE has a growing footprint in Latin America.

The Hackathons Intern will help create and execute immersive, fun, and educational events for FEE’s various 11-26-year-old audiences. This is an opportunity for the ideal candidate to combine a love for the ideas of a free society with a passion for designing and implementing extraordinary customer experiences.

Responsibilities

• Oversee virtual and in-person program logistics, such as the hackathon schedule, curriculum, speaker selection, online platform registration, day-of logistics, invoices, etc.
• Handle logistics including, but not limited to, creating logistics packets, landing and registration pages, Zoom links, calendar invites, emailing participants, etc.
• Maintain accurate reporting in Salesforce.
• Work closely with your intern supervisor on new projects, ideas, and initiatives.
• Track and report relevant KPIs (key performance indicators).

Skills

• Computer Science, Business, Economics, Project Management or other related majors desired, but not required.
• A deep curiosity about AI.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills and strong customer service skills.
• Ability to juggle multiple priorities while keeping everything on track and maintaining careful attention to detail.
• The ability to work independently and take initiative with minimal supervision.
• A proactive, entrepreneurial spirit to improve existing programs.

Attending the entirety of the online and on-site KIP programming is required for both full and part-time participants.
