About this role
The Test Engineer for Space Solar at Starpath in Hawthorne, CA will be responsible for validating solar hardware, ensuring its suitability for space operation. This role involves executing various tests, building test setups, and collaborating with design teams to streamline hardware qualification.
What you'll do
- Conduct electrical and environmental tests on solar hardware
- Build and manage test stands and data acquisition systems
- Perform thermal vacuum, thermal cycling, and vibration tests
- Analyze data to inform hardware decisions
- Collaborate with engineering teams to resolve test issues
- Draft test procedures and contribute to qualification documentation
What they're looking for
- Degree in aerospace, mechanical, electrical engineering, or related field
- 1+ years in hardware testing
- Experience with test instrumentation
- Familiarity with solar hardware testing
- Proficiency in LabVIEW, Python, or MATLAB
- Ability to simplify test setups
- Understanding of aerospace test standards
- Hands-on experience with solar simulators
