Electrical Engineer (CM-EE)
About this role
SteerBridge seeks an Electrical Engineer to serve as a Subject Matter Expert providing specialized consulting support to the VA's Office of Construction & Facilities Management. You'll review electrical designs, conduct field assessments, and guide healthcare facility projects from planning through commissioning, with expertise in power distribution, emergency systems, and compliance with national codes.
What you'll do
- Review electrical design packages, drawings, and specifications for code compliance and adherence to VA design criteria and standards
- Perform electrical load studies, short-circuit analyses, arc-flash assessments, and system capacity evaluations
- Conduct field inspections and assessments of electrical distribution, emergency power, lighting, and life-safety systems at VA facilities
- Support design reviews for VA construction projects and evaluate contractor submittals, RFIs, and shop drawings
- Develop recommendations for corrective actions, system upgrades, and risk mitigation strategies
- Participate in project meetings, constructability reviews, and coordination sessions with VA, design, and construction teams
