Security Operations Engineer

About this role

Supabase is seeking a Security Operations Engineer to join their Product Security team, focusing on incident response, customer security operations, and internal IT support. This entry-level role requires strong communication skills and a passion for security as the company scales its services globally.

What you'll do

• Act as the first responder for security alerts and assess their severity.
• Manage customer security tickets related to account issues and verification.
• Participate in on-call rotations and follow documented incident response playbooks.
• Enhance and maintain operational runbooks and decision-making processes.
• Triage internal IT requests and assist with compliance audits.
• Communicate effectively with stakeholders during critical issues.

What they're looking for

• Understanding of security concepts (MFA, JWTs, access control)
• Familiarity with IT systems (SSO, identity providers)
• Basic SQL and terminal usage
• Experience in technical support or IT helpdesk
• Strong judgment in customer-facing scenarios
• Ability to translate complex issues into clear action steps
• Comfort with asynchronous communication across time zones
