GNC Engineer (Guidance, Navigation, and Control Systems)

About this role

STR is seeking a GNC Engineer to contribute to innovative aerospace guidance, navigation, and control systems. The role involves algorithm development, simulation, and the application of advanced techniques in a collaborative setting, focused on enhancing national security solutions.

What you'll do

• Develop advanced control system algorithms for aerospace applications
• Conduct research on sensor and system algorithms for threat analysis
• Analyze GNC systems encompassing both hardware and software
• Implement models and algorithms using Python, C/C++, and/or MATLAB
• Participate in lab and field tests to validate technical solutions
• Communicate technical concepts through reports and presentations

What they're looking for

• Proficiency in C/C++, Python, and/or MATLAB
• Experience with aerospace control algorithms
• Knowledge of filtering and estimation techniques
• Capability in technical presentation development
• Familiarity with CI/CD practices
• Understanding of orbital and flight dynamics
• Experience with Git or similar version control tools
• Hands-on experience with GNC systems hardware
