Forward Deployed Data Engineer

About this role

TENEX is seeking a Forward Deployed Data Engineer to enhance their Managed Detection and Response (MDR) services. The role involves creating detection rules, log parsers, and automation workflows while also providing technical training for customers, enriching their security operations.

What you'll do

• Develop and maintain SIEM detection rules and threat content
• Build and validate log parsers for new data sources
• Create SOAR playbooks and automation workflows
• Collaborate with Deployment Engineers for customer go-lives
• Incorporate threat intelligence into detection logic
• Train customers on platform capabilities and detection content

What they're looking for

• Experience in detection engineering or security operations
• Proficiency in SIEM rule development (YARA-L, KQL)
• Ability to build and maintain SOAR playbooks
• Knowledge of MITRE ATT&CK framework
• Experience with Python and REST API integrations
• Strong problem-solving skills
• Excellent communication abilities
• Ability to thrive in a startup environment
