Spacecraft Thermal Engineer (II/III)

Terran Orbital is looking for a Spacecraft Thermal Engineer (II/III) to enhance their satellite development efforts in Irvine, CA. The selected candidate will be integral in managing thermal systems throughout the spacecraft lifecycle, from conceptualization to operation, and is expected to lead teams while performing complex thermal analysis.

What you'll do

• Identify and recommend thermal design mitigation strategies
• Translate spacecraft CONOPS into thermal design scenarios
• Develop thermal models for spacecraft components
• Participate in spacecraft build and testing campaigns
• Prepare technical documents and presentations for stakeholders
• Support business development activities

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's in mechanical/aerospace engineering
• 2+ years experience in thermal engineering
• Proficiency with Thermal Desktop
• Understanding of heat transfer principles
• Deep knowledge of thermal design for various orbits
• Experience with SolidWorks or CAD software
• Proficiency with computational scripting languages
• Capacity to work in a fast-paced, start-up environment
