Systems Engineer (Functional Safety) – Compute Platform Systems

Torc is seeking a Functional Safety Systems Engineer to join their Compute Platform Systems Team, focusing on ensuring the safety of autonomous truck components. The role involves analyzing safety requirements, conducting risk assessments, and collaborating with various teams to develop advanced safety protocols.

What you'll do

• Support development of Compute Platform components
• Lead design discussions on functional safety
• Derive and ensure safety requirements for system architectures
• Conduct Hazard Analysis and Risk Assessments
• Perform various safety analyses including FTA and FMEA
• Collaborate with hardware teams and Tier-1 suppliers

What they're looking for

• Bachelors or Masters in related field
• 5+ years experience in systems engineering
• Excellent communication and teamwork skills
• Strong understanding of ISO 26262 and ISO 21448
• Familiarity with safety analysis processes
• Ability to apply functional safety concepts
• Strong foundation in engineering fundamentals
• Willingness to work across teams
