Embedded Security Software Engineer
About this role
Two Six Technologies seeks an Embedded Security Software Engineer to reverse engineer complex firmware and wireless systems, map undocumented architectures, and develop rehosted binaries in custom emulation environments. You'll support government customers with binary analysis and contribute to low-level firmware development using industry-standard reverse engineering tools.
What you'll do
- Perform reverse engineering and forward development on complex wireless and embedded systems firmware
- Execute binary and file system analysis to map undocumented target architectures for government customers
- Utilize Ghidra, IDA Pro, or Binary Ninja to analyze firmware images and control flow
- Modify and rehost embedded binaries within QEMU and custom emulation frameworks
- Translate reverse engineering findings into functional firmware modifications and expansions
- Make technical decisions based on established precedent and company policies with moderate supervision

- C/C++ low-level software development
- Python scripting and automation in Linux environments
- Firmware reverse engineering and binary analysis
- Ghidra, IDA Pro, or Binary Ninja proficiency
- QEMU emulation and firmware rehosting
- Ghidra API or Binary Ninja API scripting
- Hardware debugging tools (JTAG/SWD) knowledge
- RTOS or embedded Linux development experience
