About this role

Tycho.AI seeks a Software Integration & Test Engineer to bridge software development and flight operations for autonomous unmanned systems. You'll own the full integration pipeline from code branch through simulation, hardware-in-the-loop testing, and live flight validation, splitting time between the lab and field.

What you'll do

  • Manage integration workflow from feature branches through SIL/HIL simulation to vehicle deployment and flight test validation
  • Operate and maintain simulator systems for autonomy, perception, and flight control stacks
  • Develop automated regression tests and integrate them into CI pipelines
  • Plan and execute flight test campaigns including test cards, safety procedures, and ground station operations
  • Investigate test failures and field issues, reproducing problems in the lab with detailed bug reports
  • Build tools for log ingestion, flight data analysis, and test reporting with software-to-flight traceability

  • Software integration and testing on complex hardware (UAS, robotics, or automotive systems)
  • Scripting and automation; C/C++ debugging capability
  • Test log analysis and flight data tools (MCAP, rosbag, PX4 Flight Review)
  • Linux, Git, and CI systems (GitHub Actions, Jenkins)
  • Simulation and hardware-in-the-loop testing
  • Flight test planning and field operations
  • ROS2, MAVLink, or ground control station experience (nice to have)
  • GPS-denied navigation or SLAM systems knowledge (nice to have)
