About this role
Ursa Major is seeking a highly experienced Chief Engineer to lead the technical direction for their Draper Engine Hypersonic program. This pivotal role involves owning the vehicle's technical architecture and ensuring successful integration of various systems, from propulsion to avionics, for flight-ready, scalable vehicles. The ideal candidate will provide technical leadership, manage risk, and guide the program through all lifecycle stages, working closely with cross-functional teams.
What you'll do
- Maintain the vehicle system architecture and technical baseline.
- Lead vehicle-level systems engineering and integration.
- Define and approve vehicle-level test strategies.
- Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineering teams.
- Partner with Program Management to balance performance, cost, and schedule.
- Chair critical technical reviews (SRR, PDR, CDR, etc.)
