About this role

Varda seeks a Hardware Build Reliability Engineer II to partner with design and manufacturing teams on spacecraft hardware production processes, ensuring scaled manufacturing yields verified and reliable components. You'll lead failure investigations, manage non-conforming product, and support quality and mission assurance across in-orbit pharmaceutical processing vehicles and reentry systems.

What you'll do

  • Develop test, manufacturability, and inspection plans for spacecraft hardware in collaboration with design and manufacturing teams
  • Contain and manage non-conforming products while guiding quality inspectors, technicians, and engineers
  • Lead failure investigations in production and test environments to identify root causes and improve design and process reliability
  • Provide critical peer review during design reviews and acceptance/qualification test campaigns
  • Support quality, flight reliability, and mission assurance functions beyond core build reliability duties
  • Scale production processes and controls to enable high-volume spacecraft hardware manufacturing
