Varda is seeking a Thermal Hardware and Test Engineer to design, build, and test thermal and fluid systems for spacecraft. The role involves hands-on work in mechanical and electrical disciplines, focusing on the development of thermal control systems and testing infrastructures while collaborating across various teams.
What you'll do
- Drive end-to-end development of thermal hardware and test infrastructure
- Develop active and passive thermal control systems
- Inform manufacturing and integration of thermal hardware onto the vehicle
- Conduct thermal vacuum tests for component acceptance
- Evaluate hardware design impacts on system-level solutions
- Implement instrumentation and data acquisition solutions
What they're looking for
- B.S. in Mechanical Engineering or related discipline
- 3+ years in thermal design and fabrication
- Proficient in Thermal Desktop and SINDA/FLUINT
- Experience with Thermal Vacuum Chamber testing
- Familiarity with MATLAB for data processing
- Excellent communication skills
- Hands-on fabrication skills
- Knowledge of thermal margins and qualification test requirements
