Avionics Manufacturing Engineer

About this role

Vast is seeking an Avionics Manufacturing Engineer in Long Beach, CA, to contribute to the development and manufacturing of avionics systems for next-generation space stations. This role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams to enhance manufacturability, oversee the production of avionics components, and ensure adherence to quality standards.

What you'll do

• Collaborate with design teams on manufacturability of human spaceflight systems
• Support new product introduction and manufacturing processes for avionics hardware
• Create and maintain manufacturing plans and assembly instructions
• Identify and resolve manufacturing challenges through root cause analysis
• Work with suppliers to ensure quality and timely delivery of components
• Participate in design reviews and collaborate on quality control processes

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s degree in relevant engineering field
• 2+ years experience in manufacturing engineering, preferably aerospace
• Understanding of avionics and electronics manufacturing
• Proficiency in CAD software
• Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills
• Strong communication and teamwork abilities
• Hands-on experience with avionics systems testing
• Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles
