About this role

Vast is seeking a Mechanical Engineer I for avionics to aid in developing systems for artificial-gravity space stations. This full-time role in Long Beach will involve designing and analyzing avionics components for space environments.

What you'll do

• Design avionics enclosures and mounting solutions
• Participate in the design cycle of avionics systems
• Collaborate with electrical engineering on PCB design
• Conduct thermal and structural analyses
• Support electronics development and create technical documents
• Plan and conduct tests and interpret data

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical or aerospace engineering
• Experience with electronics packaging
• Proficiency in 3D CAD programs
• Knowledge of thermal and structural analysis
• Experience with GD&T
• Familiarity with environmental testing standards
