About this role

Vast.ai is seeking a Technical Support Engineer II (Linux) to tackle escalated infrastructure issues and support their globally distributed AI cloud platform. You’ll be a key resource for the L1 support team, troubleshooting complex problems across hardware, networking, and containerized environments. A strong focus will be on automating solutions and building documentation to improve efficiency and reduce recurring issues.

What you'll do

  • Handle escalated support tickets related to GPU workloads, containers, and networking.
  • Diagnose and resolve issues within Docker, NVIDIA CUDA/GPU, and virtualization (KVM) environments.
  • Troubleshoot network connectivity issues (VLAN, DNS, DHCP, VPN, firewall).
  • Develop diagnostic and automation tools using Python and Bash.
  • Create and maintain internal runbooks and knowledge base articles.
  • Advise infrastructure suppliers on best practices for hardware and software configuration.
