About this role
Vulcan Elements is seeking a Materials Analysis Engineer to act as a subject matter expert in testing and characterization methods for NdFeB permanent magnet manufacturing. The role requires expertise in materials testing, data interpretation, and adherence to strict documentation protocols within a controlled environment.
What you'll do
- Serve as subject matter expert for laboratory test methods
- Evaluate and ensure the accuracy of test methods
- Assist with data interpretation and provide technical guidance
- Develop and improve test procedures for production
- Ensure material traceability and documentation compliance
- Troubleshoot instrument performance and coordinate maintenance
What they're looking for
- B.S. in Materials Science, Mechanical Engineering, or related field
- Hands-on materials testing experience
- Familiarity with test method development
- Ability to manage multiple testing activities
- Experience with XRD, TGA, DSC, and other techniques
- Exposure to quality management systems (ISO 17025, AS9100)
- Knowledge of laboratory information management systems (LIMS)
- Statistical methods for method validation and process control
