Platform Systems Engineer; Sensing and Perception, Maps and Localization

Waabi is seeking a Platform Systems Engineer to lead the development and integration of systems for Sensing, Perception, Maps, and Localization in autonomous vehicles. The role involves managing technical execution, creating requirements, and mentoring team members within a collaborative environment.

What you'll do

• Lead systems engineering lifecycle for Sensing, Perception, Maps, and Localization
• Develop and refine requirements for autonomous vehicle sensing capabilities
• Act as liaison between AI, software, hardware, and safety teams
• Create methods to validate sensor performance using data
• Enhance simulation and data generation for sensor models
• Contribute to system safety case and mentor junior engineers

• Experience in autonomous vehicles or robotics
• Strong knowledge of AV systems and sensing technologies
• Expertise in Systems Engineering and V&V practices
• Proficiency in programming languages like Python and C++
• Extensive experience in sensor simulation and error modeling

• Knowledge of functional safety standards
• Experience with AI/ML integration in safety cases
