About this role
Waabi seeks an experienced Mechanical V&V Engineer to lead verification and validation testing for autonomous vehicle hardware, managing functional and compliance testing, regulatory certification, and cross-functional collaboration across design, systems, and software teams.
What you'll do
- Plan and execute mechanical DVP&R testing including vibration, shock, thermal, and environmental tests on prototypes and production hardware
- Characterize vehicle requirements, decompose to module/component level, and maintain traceability to test evidence
- Identify mechanical issues, perform root cause analysis, and drive corrective actions to closure
- Manage compliance testing and certification against ISO 26262, UL 4600, SAE J1455, ISO 16750, and OEM standards
- Partner with design, systems, quality, and software teams to integrate mechanical V&V and Design for Test into program workflow
- Coordinate with external accredited laboratories for pre-compliance and formal certification testing
