Waymo is seeking an Automotive HVAC Systems Engineer to enhance the comfort and efficiency of its autonomous vehicles. The role involves collaborating with internal teams and OEM partners to establish performance targets and design innovative HVAC solutions.

What you'll do

• Define HVAC performance metrics for future vehicles
• Establish energy efficiency standards for HVAC systems
• Develop low-risk HVAC solutions for various vehicle configurations
• Coordinate with OEM partners on performance and comfort targets
• Supervise verification of system performance

What they're looking for

• Master's in Mechanical Engineering or related field
• 8+ years in Automotive Engineering
• Design experience with electric climate compressor HVAC systems
• Knowledge of AC vapor-compression cycle thermodynamics
• Expertise in automotive refrigerants and regulations
• Negotiation skills with OEMs and Tier 1 suppliers
