Hardware Reliability Engineer

Waymo is seeking a Hardware Reliability Engineer to ensure the reliability of their autonomous driving technology. The role involves conducting reliability analyses, developing test plans, and managing vendor relationships within a hybrid work environment.

What you'll do

• Perform DFMEA and FTA to identify reliability risks
• Define reliability requirements and environmental specifications
• Develop and execute reliability experiments and test setups
• Lead failure analysis to determine root causes of hardware issues
• Manage relationships with vendors for reliability testing
• Maintain failure rate models and communicate technical risks

What they're looking for

• Bachelor’s Degree in relevant engineering field
• 5+ years of reliability and quality analysis experience
• Proficiency in data analysis tools like Python and SQL
• Experience in developing reliability test plans
• Knowledge of mechanics of materials and failure physics
• Experience leading cross-functional teams
