About this role
Waymo is seeking a Software Engineer for its Perception team to enhance the capabilities of the Waymo Driver. The ideal candidate will work on developing and evaluating perception systems to ensure safety and reliability for autonomous vehicles.
What you'll do
- Analyze the Waymo Driver's perception stack for various driving conditions
- Set directions for perception development to scale across environments and sensors
- Collaborate with engineering teams on next-generation perception technology
- Design automation and evaluation frameworks for performance and safety assessment
- Create simulation tools for testing vehicle performance against complex scenarios
- Facilitate the sign-off process during software development stages
What they're looking for
- BS in Computer Science or similar field
- 2+ years in industrial AI applications
- Experience with ML software system evaluation
- Proficient in C++ programming
- Strong software architecture skills
- Experience with autonomous vehicles or ADAS systems
