About this role
Company
Pace helps leading insurers run complex operations through AI agents and expert human review. Financial institutions spend nearly $400 billion annually on outsourced work. We’re building technology to transform those operations alongside some of the largest insurers in the world.
Role
We’re looking for a Business Operations generalist to help build the systems and processes behind Pace’s next stage of growth.
You’ll work directly with the founders across finance, hiring, internal operations, and special projects. You might build a financial model to inform an investment decision, improve how we hire and onboard, or take a new business initiative from an open question to execution.
Your scope will evolve with the company. We’re looking for someone who can identify what matters, bring structure to unfamiliar problems, and take responsibility for getting the work done.
Responsibilities
Build financial discipline: Support budgeting and forecasting, track spending and runway, manage invoicing and vendor payments, and coordinate with external accounting partners.
Drive special projects: Research new opportunities, develop business cases, and lead initiatives across teams with clear decisions, owners, and timelines.
Support company planning: Track business performance, prepare leadership and investor materials, and help translate company priorities into plans teams can execute.
Help grow the team: Partner with hiring managers on recruiting processes, candidate experience, and onboarding.
Improve internal operations: Manage vendors, tools, and administrative workflows, coordinating with legal and other external partners where needed.
Build with AI: Automate repetitive work and turn useful experiments into reliable tools and processes.
Your background
Experience in startup operations, consulting, finance, or another role requiring analytical thinking and independent execution.
Confidence working with financial models, spreadsheets, and business data—and explaining what the numbers mean.
Evidence of taking an ambiguous problem through to a practical result.
Clear writing, strong organization, and good judgment when handling sensitive information.
Willingness to move between planning and detailed execution, from evaluating a business opportunity to resolving an invoice.
Nice to have
Experience building internal processes at a growing technology company.
Exposure to financial planning, recruiting operations, or board reporting.
Experience creating automations or internal tools.
Team characteristics
Integrity: We value thoughtful people who earn trust, keep their commitments, and care about the quality of their work.
Ambition: Our goal is a $100bn+ business spanning vertical services. We want teammates who bring equally serious ambitions to their own development, whether as expert practitioners, leaders, or future founders.
Trajectory
This role offers exposure to how the entire company operates. As you build expertise and deliver results, potential paths include leading Business Operations, taking ownership of a function, or helping run a business line.

Competitive salary and meaningful equity ownership
