SpaceXAI seeks a Hardware Failure Analysis Engineer to diagnose and resolve hardware issues in data center environments, manage vendor relationships and RMA processes, and evaluate firmware for compatibility and security. The role combines deep technical expertise in hardware diagnostics with proactive reliability engineering to support AI infrastructure operations.

What you'll do

  • Analyze firmware packages and hardware specifications for compatibility, performance, security vulnerabilities, and safety concerns before deployment
  • Investigate and diagnose hardware failures including intermittent or ambiguous issues through rigorous testing and data analysis
  • Manage vendor relationships, initiate RMA claims, negotiate resolutions, and hold vendors accountable
  • Collaborate with data center operations teams to troubleshoot and optimize hardware systems
  • Develop monitoring tools and scripts to detect hardware anomalies and minimize downtime
  • Document failure modes, root causes, reliability models, and outcomes into knowledge base; participate in on-call incident response
