About this role

Xaira Therapeutics is seeking a Robotics Engineer to build next-generation lab automation systems that integrate robotic arms, mobile platforms, instruments, and AI to accelerate biological experimentation. You'll translate manual lab workflows into reliable automated systems, working across robotics software, perception, motion planning, and multi-station orchestration.

What you'll do

  • Develop and maintain robotics software for arms, mobile robots, sensors, grippers, and lab devices using ROS2 and modern frameworks
  • Design motion planning, manipulation, perception, and safety logic for real laboratory robotic systems
  • Integrate laboratory instruments via APIs, IoT interfaces, and custom control software
  • Build task execution frameworks using state machines, behavior trees, planners, and error recovery logic
  • Benchmark and integrate computer vision for object detection, pose estimation, tracking, and scene understanding
  • Collaborate with scientists and engineers to translate biological workflows into automated protocols and debug physical hardware
