DFM Project Engineer

About this role

Xometry is seeking a DFM Project Engineer to assess the manufacturability of customer designs across various industries, including aerospace and automotive. The role involves collaboration with machine shops and internal teams to troubleshoot orders and enhance manufacturing capabilities.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies
• Troubleshoot order execution during production
• Interface with machine shops, internal staff, and customers
• Work on special projects to expand manufacturing partner capabilities

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
• 2+ years in an engineering/manufacturing environment
• 1-2 years of experience in manufacturing engineering with focus on Injection Molding
• Knowledge of equipment selection and process cycle times
• Experience with suppliers and equipment providers
• Familiarity with GD&T and QA practices
• Experience with 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Ability to identify DFM issues from CAD models
