The DFM Project Engineer at Xometry will collaborate with clients from various industries to assess the manufacturability of their designs and propose effective solutions. This role involves direct communication with production teams and customers to ensure successful order execution and may include special projects to enhance manufacturing capabilities.
What you'll do
- Develop and implement sourcing strategies
- Assist production with troubleshooting order execution
- Interface with machine shops, fabrication shops, and customers
- Manage special projects to expand manufacturing capabilities
- Work with OEM equipment makers and internal experts
What they're looking for
- Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
- 2+ years in engineering and manufacturing
- 1-2 years in manufacturing engineering focused on Injection Molding
- Knowledge of equipment selection and process cycle times
- Experience with suppliers and OEM providers
- Familiarity with GD&T and quality inspection practices
- 3D CAD modeling skills, preferably SolidWorks
- Ability to identify DFM issues in CAD models
