DFM Project Engineer

About this role

Xometry is seeking a DFM Project Engineer in Los Angeles, CA to assess manufacturability of customer designs and propose solutions across various industries. This role involves collaboration with machine shops and internal teams to ensure successful order execution and enhance manufacturing capabilities.

What you'll do

• Develop and implement sourcing strategies
• Assist production in troubleshooting post-order execution
• Interface with machine shops, internal staff, and customers
• Lead special projects to enhance manufacturing partner capabilities

What they're looking for

• Bachelor's degree in Manufacturing Engineering or related field
• 2+ years of engineering and manufacturing experience
• 1-2 years specific to injection molding
• Familiarity with equipment selection and process limitations
• Experience with suppliers and OEM providers
• Knowledge of GD&T and inspection/QA practices
• Proficiency in 3D CAD software (SolidWorks preferred)
• Ability to identify DFM issues from CAD models
