Embedded Software Engineer III - PX4 Firmware & Simulation

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking an experienced Embedded Software Engineer to work on PX4 firmware and simulation for unmanned aircraft systems. The ideal candidate will be involved in firmware development, system integration, and hardware-in-the-loop testing to enhance autonomous aerial platforms.

What you'll do

• Develop and modify PX4 firmware modules
• Integrate sensors and payloads through PX4 frameworks
• Maintain build infrastructure and configuration for embedded systems
• Create and manage simulation environments for validation
• Support flight test operations and post-flight analysis
• Collaborate with engineers on integration issues

What they're looking for

• Proficient in C and C++
• Experience with PX4 firmware
• Knowledge of build systems like CMake and Make
• Familiarity with ARM Cortex-M microcontrollers
• Understanding of MAVLink protocol
• Strong debugging skills with tools like GDB
• Experience with hardware-in-the-loop testing
• Background in control theory and sensor fusion
