Mechanical Engineer III/IV

Zone 5 Technologies is seeking a Mechanical Engineer III/IV to innovate and develop mechanical systems for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). The role involves designing components, conducting structural analysis, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to advance UAS technologies across various sectors.

What you'll do

• Design mechanical components for UAVs and aerospace vehicles
• Build and test UAV prototypes for reliability
• Conduct structural analysis on UAV systems
• Design thermal management systems
• Collaborate on system integration with engineering teams
• Develop maintenance and inspection guidelines for UAVs

What they're looking for

• Proficiency in CAD and design software
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience in finite element analysis (FEA)
• Strong problem-solving and analytical skills
• Understanding of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
• Experience with project management
• Familiarity with UAV-specific regulations
