Mechanical Engineer III/IV

About this role

Zone 5 Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to develop and optimize mechanical systems for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This role involves designing components, conducting testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance UAS technology across various sectors.

What you'll do

• Design mechanical components and systems for UAVs
• Build and test UAV prototypes for reliability and performance
• Conduct structural analysis on UAV systems
• Design thermal management systems
• Collaborate with other engineers for system integration
• Evaluate lightweight materials for UAVs

What they're looking for

• Proficiency in CAD and mechanical design software
• Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
• Experience with design for manufacturability (DFMA)
• Experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
• Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
• Project management experience
