About this role
Zone 5 Technologies seeks an experienced Mechanical Engineer to develop and optimize mechanical systems for unmanned aircraft systems (UAS). This role involves designing components, conducting testing, and collaborating with cross-functional teams to enhance UAS technology across various sectors.
What you'll do
- Design mechanical components and systems for UAVs
- Build and test UAV prototypes for reliability and performance
- Conduct structural analysis on UAV systems
- Design thermal management systems
- Collaborate with other engineers for system integration
- Evaluate lightweight materials for UAVs
What they're looking for
- Proficiency in CAD and mechanical design software
- Knowledge of geometric dimensioning and tolerancing (GD&T)
- Experience with design for manufacturability (DFMA)
- Experience with finite element analysis (FEA)
- Knowledge of fluid dynamics and thermodynamics
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Project management experience
