Chrome extension (Jobs AI Autofill): install, sign in and autofill applications

Install Jobs AI Autofill from the Chrome Web Store, connect it to your account, and fill job applications from your autofill profile. It never presses Submit.

Yes, InterviewChamp has a Chrome extension. It's called Jobs AI Autofill, and it's free to install from the Chrome Web Store. It fills in job application forms for you from the autofill profile and resume saved in your InterviewChamp account: contact details, work eligibility, dropdowns, your resume upload and drafts of the written answers. It never presses Submit. You read the form and send it yourself.

It works in Chrome, version 116 or newer.

Install it

  1. Open the Jobs AI Autofill page on the Chrome Web Store.
  2. Click Add to Chrome.
  3. A Set up in 3 steps page opens by itself. It takes about two minutes, and you can come back to it any time from the panel's Settings.

Set it up: three steps

  1. Turn on "Work on every website". Out of the box the assistant appears only on the big application systems. Most company careers pages show one of those forms inside their own page, and this lets the assistant work there too. Chrome asks you once to allow access to all sites. That access is used only to find and fill application forms, and you can turn it off in Settings any time.
  2. Sign in, or create a free account. Your profile, resume and saved answers live in your InterviewChamp account. Signing in on the website, in the same Chrome, connects the extension by itself. There is nothing to paste.
  3. Fill in your autofill profile at /jobs/autofill-profile: name, contact details, work history, education, work authorization and links. If your resume is already in your account, it can fill the education and work history steps from it, then you check them. The setup counts this step as done once the profile is at least 60% complete. The fuller it is, the more of each form fills itself.

Then pin the icon so it's always one click away: click ⧉ (Extensions) at the right of Chrome's toolbar, then the pin next to Jobs AI Autofill. Chrome keeps new extensions behind ⧉ until you do.

Fill an application

  1. Open a job application. On the hiring systems it knows, the assistant opens by itself in a panel beside the form. On any other page, click the champ icon in Chrome's toolbar.
  2. Press Autofill this application. It fills what your profile knows and asks you about the rest.
  3. Check the form. The panel lists the fields it filled, the fields it left blank for you, and the ones that need a look. Show me on the page jumps to a field.
  4. Press the site's own Submit button yourself.

On an application that runs over several pages, it fills each page as you move through it. One AI credit covers the whole application, however many pages it has.

What it fills

  • Contact details and links (LinkedIn, GitHub, portfolio)
  • Work eligibility questions and dropdowns, matched to the employer's own options
  • Checkboxes, including required agreement boxes, so read those before you send
  • Work history and education
  • Your resume upload: the one on your profile, or a copy tailored to that job
  • Written questions like "Why do you want to work here?": it drafts an answer from your profile, your resume and the job post, and you can edit it before you send

What it never does

  • It never presses Submit. It fills the form, shows you what it filled and what it left for you, and stops.
  • It doesn't guess sensitive answers. When it spots a gender, race, disability or veteran question, it fills it only from answers you saved in your profile. If you didn't save one, it leaves the field blank, and the AI never answers these questions. A question worded in an unusual way can slip past, so check these before you send.
  • It doesn't make up answers it can't back. When it doesn't know, it asks you. For a dropdown, it shows the employer's own options. Your answer is saved to your account unless you untick the box, so the next form that asks the same question fills by itself. Private answers, like salary history, gender or race, are never saved this way.

Which sites it works on

46 hiring systems, including Greenhouse, Lever, Ashby, Workday and Workable. It also works on a company's careers page when that page shows one of those forms inside it. On any other application page, click its icon in Chrome's toolbar to start it.

Some sites, like Workday and iCIMS, make you sign in or create an account on their own site before you see the form. There the panel says so: sign in on that site first, then press Autofill.

How it works with Jobs AI and your autofill profile

The extension and the website share one account. Everything it fills comes from your autofill profile and resume, and answers you save in the panel go back into that same profile.

On the Jobs AI board, jobs on a hiring system the extension supports show an Apply with Autofill button. It opens the employer's application in a new tab, where the extension takes over. If you made a tailored copy of your resume for that job, the extension picks it for the upload.

What it costs

The extension is free to install. Autofill uses AI credits: on the free plan, 6 AI credits a day, shared with the resume builder's AI, tailored resumes and cover letters. One credit covers one application, even when the form runs over several pages, and each credit comes back 24 hours after you use it. Pro and Pro+ have unlimited AI credits. See Plan comparison.

Privacy: what it reads and sends

  • Your profile and resume are already in your account.
  • When you autofill, it sends the form's questions and options, the page's web address, and the job post text and location from that page, so the written answers fit the role.
  • On pages that contain a form and mention a job, it reads the page's title, headings, field labels and button text, to recognise whether the page is a job application. Never a value anyone typed.
  • It doesn't read your browsing history. In your browser it stores only your sign-in and your settings.
  • Your data is not sold and not used for advertising. The full details are in the privacy policy, section "Browser Extension (Jobs AI Autofill)".

Hide it, sign out, or remove it

  • Hide it: the gear (Settings) in the panel has three ways to hide the assistant: for this page, for this site, or everywhere. The toolbar icon always brings it back.
  • Sign out: the gear (Settings) in the panel → Sign out. This also signs you out of the InterviewChamp website in that browser.
  • Remove it: click ⧉ (Extensions) in Chrome's toolbar, then the ⋮ next to Jobs AI Autofill → Remove from Chrome. A short page then opens asking what didn't work for you.

Common questions

Q: Does InterviewChamp have a Chrome extension? A: Yes. It's called Jobs AI Autofill, and it's free on the Chrome Web Store. It fills job applications from your InterviewChamp autofill profile and resume, and you press Submit yourself.

Q: Will it submit applications for me? A: No. It never presses Submit. It fills the form, shows you what it filled and what it left for you, and stops.

Q: How do I connect it to my account? A: Sign in on the InterviewChamp website in the same Chrome. The extension picks up the sign-in by itself, so there's nothing to copy or paste. The panel's Sign in button takes you there.

Q: How do I check that it's installed? A: Click ⧉ (Extensions) at the right of Chrome's toolbar. If Jobs AI Autofill is in the list, it's installed. Click the pin next to it to keep its icon in the toolbar.

Q: It doesn't open on a job page. A: Click its icon in Chrome's toolbar: that opens it on any page, and it says so if it finds no form. If you hid it for that site, the same click brings it back.

Q: It opened but filled nothing, or very little. A: Three checks: (1) your autofill profile at /jobs/autofill-profile is filled in, (2) you're signed in (the panel shows a Sign in button if not), (3) you're on the application form itself, not the job description. On sites like Workday you need to sign in on the site first.

Q: It says "The extension was updated — refresh this page to reconnect." A: Chrome updated the extension while the page was open. Refresh the page and press Autofill again.

Q: It stopped at a captcha. A: Solve the captcha yourself and press Next. It picks up again on the next page.

Q: Which browser does it work in? A: Chrome, version 116 or newer. It installs from the Chrome Web Store.

Q: I ran out of AI credits. A: On the free plan each credit comes back 24 hours after you use it. Pro and Pro+ have unlimited AI credits.
